In today's Reformer Pilates class I am introducing some new routines that I have been playing around with on my reformer machine at home, translating them to dynamic gliding movements that we can do on the mat with some socks or gliding discs. In this class we are focussing on strengthening our core muscles, defining our arms and shoulders, improving our posture and stretching our spines so we stand tall and feel balanced. I want all your movements in this class to be smooth, dynamic and controlled. Really focus on the muscles that are powering each movement and connect deeply with your body’s rhythm as we flow from one sequence to the next. Pay attention to how each muscle group activates and supports the others and remember the power of your pilates breathing to really engage your core.
